Nose Dry peanut shell meets the senses first along with a considerable proof assault uncharacteristic of other batches. In deeper aroma layers, lemon cake, mild notes of stone fruit, and light maple syrup make their presence known.
Palate Peanut shell takes a back seat as cinnamon candy blooms at breakneck speed. On the mid-palate and clear into the finish, bitter taste buds activate and the cinnamon candy note transforms into a subtly medicinal taste. There is an unusually present ethanol flavor for a whiskey of this caliber.
Finish Continuing with uncharacteristic qualities, the finish is abnormally hot. Rye spice punches through the finish. At the conclusion of the finish, subtle whispers of vanilla and buttercream appear.
