Nose A cascade of nuttiness, distinctly boiled peanuts. The nose has to dig to find anything else. Subtle lemongrass, brown sugar, and maple syrup underneath. Ripe plum comes through in a whisper.

Palate Boiled peanuts highlighted by flashes of cigar smoke, oak char, and smooth butter. Mild notes of cinnamon and prune. The delivery is surprisingly thin and subtle.

Finish Less burn than expected on the swallow, but it blooms gradually, delivering more nuttiness, black pepper, and hints of vanilla. There is a lingering pleasant leather note that supplements pinpoints of cayenne.

Story The spirit of adventure speeds up your breathing as you descend into the canyon, or underneath the mountain. Warm, southern breeze whips at your arm as you hang it lazily out the window, driving on the backroads of the backroads. The woody smell of a general store that’s laid its claim to the land for a century. Determination and resolve. Anticipation.
