Nose Freshly cut oak and red velvet cake are heavy on the aroma. Undertones of ripe banana, maple, brown sugar, and a whisper of syrupy dark cherries.
Palate Red velvet cake transfers heavily from the nose. The whiskey is chewy, caramel and maple syrup both develop as the red velvet fades into a simpler dark chocolate layer. Some oak transfers but in a slightly smoky way.
Finish A flash of black pepper, more a sensation than a taste, that seems to condense into more of a barrel char type character. There is a long duration dark chocolate finish and an aftertaste of mild tobacco leaf.
